Chargers' NFL Draft Day 3 Sleepers: Defensive Tackle, Edge, Receiver Prospects to Watch (2026)

The 2026 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and the Los Angeles Chargers are gearing up for their five picks, with four of them falling within the first 123 picks. With a focus on addressing their most immediate needs, the Chargers are set to target interior offensive line, wide receiver, defensive tackle, and edge rusher. Among the potential Day 3 sleepers, Skyler Bell, Billy Schrauth, Logan Fano, and Cameron Ball stand out as intriguing prospects.

Skyler Bell, a wide receiver from UConn, is a tough, skilled receiver who can line up all over the field. Despite not being the biggest or fastest, Bell's growth last season and his ability to hang onto the ball make him a valuable asset. The Chargers could benefit from his versatility and skill set, especially in Mike McDaniel's offense.

Billy Schrauth, an offensive line from Notre Dame, is a developmental player with great potential. At 6-4, 310 pounds, Schrauth played top-notch football for the Irish and earned second-team All-America honors despite a truncated season due to a knee injury. While he needs to add strength to improve his run blocking, his pass protection skills and overall skill set make him a solid all-around guard.

Logan Fano, an edge rusher from Utah, has the necessary size and strength to be an NFL edge player. Despite needing work on his pass rush, Fano is a nonstop defender who projects as a solid run stopper. Overcoming two knee injuries earlier in his career, Fano has played relatively injury-free the last two seasons, logging 1,168 snaps and totaling 34 quarterback pressures, including five sacks.

Cameron Ball, a defensive tackle from Arkansas, is a solid rotational player who can never have too many interior defensive linemen on the roster. At 6-4 and 310 pounds, Ball's win-trait is built more on quickness and angles rather than brute strength. According to PFF, Ball registered 21 total pressures, including 18 hurries and three quarterback hits, and came up with 23 tackles in run defense.

In my opinion, the Chargers should strongly consider drafting Skyler Bell, Billy Schrauth, Logan Fano, and Cameron Ball. These players have the potential to fill critical needs and contribute to the team's success. While they may not be the most high-profile prospects, their skill sets and potential make them valuable additions to the Chargers' roster.
